Jamie Pugh misses out on a place in the Britain’s Got Talent final

Sadly, Jamie Pugh was unsuccessful in his attempt to get into the final of Britain’s Got Talent. He sang “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha and you can view his performance here:

Jamie did not receive enough of the public vote to finish in the top three and so was out of the competition.

Piers Morgan said that Jamie controlled his nerves well but didn’t perform as well as he had for his audtion. Amanda Holden, who buzzed during the performance, said that she didn’t feel comfortable watching him because he was so nervous. Simon Cowell told Jamie that his last note was very good but as an overall performance, it wasn’t good enough.

The dance troupe Flawless and singer Shaun Smith will go through to appear in the final on Saturday.

  • Amanda Holden was far too harsh on Jamie and should not have buzzed him. The way he sang the song from Le Miserables shows he has a really beautiful voice and I hope someone will sign him up and produce a CD since I would certainly buy it. I am glad that Piers was kind since Jamie deserves that not least since Amanda and Simon were so needlessly harsh.

guys i do not know what happended but amanda buzzing like she did was so rude. i noticed when jamie first stpped on the stage amanda had a pure look of HATRED IN her eyes, and to buzz the guy right in the middle of a difficult song. what is her problem? will jamie secure a record deal, i can’t wait for the cd

What a shame that such a talented man did not go through to the final!!! I was devastated! He really deserved a chance because I think he’s got an amazing voice and the show is exactly for people like him who has REAL undiscovered TALENT. It is a shame about the nerves but I, who am normally confident, would not be able to stand up and perform on national TV. Jamie can only feel proud of his performance. He has already achieved so much and I hope it’s not the last we see of him!

Although a shame that Jamie did not get through. Someone should have checked that song out first! It did not show his voice off anywhere near the level the first audition song did. I hope he will still be noticed by a producer. How about hypnosis for the nerves?

Jamie’s voice gave me goosebumps at the first audition

I hoped for him to be in the final,Sadly the song choice for me did him no favours.
He does have a grand voice and that needs to be heard.
Someone will take him on i’m sure.

I am so sad for dear Jamie. he was such a genuine guy and clearly has a lovely voice. I just hope he gets a chance to sing again in public. The dream is not over.

  • COLIN says:

I feel so sad for Jamie. What a singer, tho’ unfortunately the wrong song song to show of his fantastic voice. It happens to the best. I’ve heard Katherine Jenkins voice waver in concert when she went out of her comfort zone.
The dream is not over. Just have to put it down to experience, and use it to your benefit.
I look forward to hearing that voice again in public on the big screen.
Pengam.Blackwood has a heroic talent, assist him in nuturing back to where it belongs.

Amanda was publicising her American career in the News of the World and decided to use Jamie’s performance as a lever to get more publicity in the States. Jamie’s performance wasn’t his best last night but he remained dignified throughout and with the right support and encouragement this man will go far.

  • Samantha says:

He is truly talented and I absolutely loved his audition! I do, however, believe a different song would have made the act 100x better.

  • Juris says:

Amanda is a bitch for buzzing him. Wrong song choice for him tho. I hope he makes a CD

  • PAM says:

I agree with all of the above. I’m really sorry he did not get through, but the song choice did not do him any favours. I really hope now that he does have hypnosis and tries again. There’s nothing wrong with him applying to BGT next year – George Samson won it second time around! I hope if he does that Amanda Holden is not one of the judges. She has assassinated his character in the press and then, knowing how nervous he was, buzzed him in the middle of his performance. Even Simon was shocked at that. I hope that the American audience will now see her for what she is……………I’m a big believer in what goes around comes around, so she may have thought it clever the jeopardise Jamie’s chances when in fact she may have damaged her own at the same time!

Jamie Pugh was fantastic during his audition but unfortunately didn’t perform as well during the semi-final. But then again neither did Susan Boyle. I do, however, feel that Amanda Holden was biased and hypocritical. Holden at the end of Boyle’s presentation said “I was biting all my acrylic nails off” and to Pugh said you are “there to entertain me and I was uncomfortable and nervous”. Surely her comment to Boyle also signals her nervousness; perhaps she buzzed Pugh because she had no more acrylic nails to bite off! I trust Pugh will remember the comment that he made at the end of his audition, that he felt “complete” and use that feeling of completeness to keep singing, to push through the mental barrier, and to persist even more with his dream. Good luck Jamie Pugh!

  • Agatha says:

I personally think that Amanda’s decision is right.
i think, as long as she has an acceptable reason for that, whatever she does is correct/acceptable.
    BECAUSE
theres rumors that Jamie Pugh is fake,
    SO
she thought that Jamie wasnt sincere and genuine
    THUS
she thought that Jamie shouldnt have qualified for the semi, and so she axed him

look, if I know that someone is fake, i will also do the same as Amanda did.

dont judge her like that! she may be harsh sometimes, but do try to understand her.

  • John says:

Amanda Holden is not talented enough to judge singers, she cannot sing herself and so cannot legitimately comment on the talent level (or not) of any contestants. She can only comment as a lay person.
